Secret Passage Editing

Detail 1

Clear
Colorless
Spherical
Fits into: palm of human hand

The cracks on this sphere's surface are deeper than the glass they interrupt, extending their sharp edges of refraction inward into the empty air. There are many cracks, but only one hollow where the glass has been lost: a rough triangle no larger than the pupil of an infant's eye.

Detail 2

Clouded
Sloughed-skin grey
Trapezoidal block with sinusoidal superior surface
Fits into: tzompantli

Slight sculptor's marks on the four outwardly angled corners suggest a crouching animal, with a disproportionate waved back perhaps meant to suggest bristling fur, armor plates, display crests, heat sails, manufactured saddles or other riding equipment, decorative clothing, or camelid nutrient storage hump. No face is visible. A small cylindrical hollow within the solid glass contains a pale pink liquid.

Detail 3

Clear; Clear with clouded streaks
Colorless; Colorless with pale blue streaks; Colorless with grey streaks
Numerous irregular fragments, worn smooth
Fits into (individual fragments): a dust mite's eyelid; "Karelian Birch" Fabergé egg; various in-between
Fits into (entirety of piece, originally): a large human esophagus, sewn shut at the hiatus
Fits into (entirety of piece, remaining): a locked silver case

Unremarkable in all sensory respects. Sighting this piece produces the strong compulsion to consume it. Effects unknown.

Clear
Colorless
Spherical
Fits into: an object

The museum regrets the inaccurate description, but it has proven impossible to record the object's appearance truthfully. Visitors are encouraged to view it themselves, as it has no known effects apart from its enforced obscurity.

Clear with glittering occlusions
Deep red
Rectangular prism
Fits into: FuG 240 Berlin cavity magnetron casing

Historical records refer to this piece as a cube and purport to describe different set of occlusions than the apparently patternless distribution we see today. In fact, the vertical dimension (as displayed) is 0.9% greater in length than the prism's two equal dimensions.

Semi-transparent
Light green with colorless center
Two deformed hemispheres on a block with protruding sides; the upper back of a well-hydrated Bactrian camel
Fits into: a kindergartener's cubby hole

Although one solid piece, the green "camelid" portion surrounds a colorless volume in the detailed shape of a tree frog. As it is difficult to make this out with the naked eye, a scanner-assisted artist's rendering has been posted adjacent to this label.

Opaque
White
Six cylinders supporting a thin rectangular prism; or, a thin rectangular prism supporting six cylinders
Fits into: the ribcage of a mature male pink salmon

The cylinders are indistinguishable in all respects apart from location.
